Frontier VRS was built by Frontier Precision Inc. in 2016. Frontier VRS is a service which provides RTK quality correction via cellular connections to the Agriculture, Construction and Survey customer.
The Virtual Reference Stations (VRS) are networked using the latest in positioning software from Trimble, utilizing multiple GPS and Glonass (GNSS) Base Stations located across Alaska. Each location was selected and installed based on the NGS (National Geodetic Survey) guidelines to ensure a high level of network performance.
Anyone with RTK correction needs that have sufficient cell coverage simply connects via a cell modem or Wi-Fi Hotspot for a personalized signal, specific to their location without the hassle of setting up a base station or radio.
